hello, i need to dual boot Windows 2000 professional and Slackware 8.0. I would open boot.ini and add a line for slackware, but that file doesn't exist in Windows 2000. so how would I use the Windows OS loader to boot to slackware?
in windows explorer go to view > folder options > select "show all files" and it will be in the C:\ drive

You also need to uncheck "Hide Protected Operating System Files (recommended) option. It's a few lines down from "Show hidden files and folders" radio button.
HTH...
Never. It's always at root file system C:\.C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System maybe. *???
I started linux and it also did not see it.
