    blackbox - the faster windows manager

    if you wants something faster than kde or gnome, try blackbox.
    i downloaded the rpm from sourceforge and it
    runs great! :

    2 things:
    1. Did you try fluxbox?
    2. It's window manager, not browser

    compile it from source and it'll be even faster!

    I bet KDE with objprelinking is faster than blackbox... I'll find out tonight

    No it's not !

    But nearly as fast, and much more functionel in daily use... and prettier.

    I have issues with KDE2 that prevents me from using it daily.

    Hey Lovechild, I just had a thought... are you using KDE 2 or 3? If 3, was it any different than installing 2? I'm just going through the kde hint right now, about to install kde 2...

    KDE 2.2.2 - I'm not installing KDE 3 untill it reachs stability or I get bored and compile Beta2 (out today btw, not announced yet)
