gtk compiling probs in rh7.2

Has anyone else had any problems compiling any apps that have gtk support in rh7.2? *Several different programs (mostly rmp3 encoding, but seems to be any gtk related) files are looking for a gtk-config file that doesnt exist on my system. *Is this just *a newer version of gtk that no longer require the use of a gtk-config file? *Anyone know of any work arounds?I am at work right now, so I cant check my gtk version for posting, but will as soon as possible.

i have no probs with gtk programs, RH7.2 and debian (woody) both work fine.
