LFS, if you follow the book you're going to learn a lot and its easier than it seems.a good distro that will be a bit more challenging to learn but not impossible.
I have an old 4 gig HD laying on my shelf, what I am thinking about doing is installing it as a slave.
What I want to know is can I install a second Linux distro on it to give something else a try other than RH7.2 You know just to tinker. I want to learn the different windows managers and GUIs available.
What I dont need to have happen is for it to screw with the RH7.2 GRUB install (sure making an entry for itself is okay).
Anyone know of a good PET that will help me in the process and oh BTW a good distro that will be a bit more challenging to learn but not impossible.
Thanks
Ras

I second the motion for LFS... all in favor please say "Aye!"
Okay going to give LFS a shot. It will install on a slave drive and not totally screw up my grub loader right?

I never tried but i think that you have to skip the lilo install and add an entry for LFS and youre set
Yup. Grub is pretty easy to tell how to work also. Just edit the config file and thats that. You dont need to do a re-init of your boot files like in LILO.skip the lilo install and add an entry for LFS and youre set
Real men install OpenBSD. Of course
lots of chat about OpenBSD will it work well with RH7.2 and not screw the Master Drive up?Real men install OpenBSD. *Of course
Forget LFS or OpenBSD or any of that crap.
You have some old HDDs lying around that you want to use?
