XFree86 hates me

Ok so this is the SECOND time Redhat Up2date has borked my system. After installing all the "updates" from redhat I rebooted and now my X will not start. It just locks up my system with 98% cpu until I kill it. I looked in /var/log/XFree86 and found this

So I am tired and will fix tomorrow but input from your smart brains is appreciated :-)

It sounds like your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 is borken..

Go check your font server path.

I have no idea about the gdm bit though..

Try running "xf86config" or I believe it might have been changed to "xf86cfg" with new X. There's some command in there to configure your window system.

and btw, the current linux kernels perform as good as BSD in every area where BSD used to be superior to linux

any progress ? did you rerun Xconfigurator ? the fonts won't kill your xserver, but the gdm might...
