    Jacked up fonts

    :Hey all
    first post here
so question is, I'm running RH7.2 and KDE2.2.1, and my fixed width fonts are jacked up, all cursive. So any time I open a text file in konqueror it is impossible to read. even if i change them in kontrol center they revert back. The font is called arioso and its drivin me nuts. I figure I should just go into the font server config folder and delete that font, am i right? I would just like to know what I can do to change this permenently, and being a newbie i need specific directions as I've already screwed up my system and reinstalled several times with unrelated issues.
    thanks, you all are great

    Welcome to the board EricN!

Now I wish I had the answer to your question. That's in 'text editor' isn't it? Mine was doing that and I battled it for a while. I don't recall winning, but it's not doing it now.

One of the more knowledgable ought to be along with an answer for you (I hope ;-). I will make a note of it, because it really had me frustrated.

Good luck & May the Source be with you, glenn

Welcome to the boards, Ericn!! How's it going?

Since you've solved your problem, do you think you could post the solution? This would possibly benefit other people with the same problem in the future

    Re: Jacked up fonts

    Well
all I needed to do was change the fonts in kate. i thought i had been down that road but i guess not. but yes it is the embedded text viewer apparently.
as far as linux goes I love it, still dual booting windows but not much. windows is so boring now!!
it has opened a whole new world in computing, futzing with C and perl.
so much to do and so little time........................
thanks to everyone on the boards for answering questions before i even have to ask them.
    later
    eric
