How do I add.....?

I would like to add another source to my tree for dselect/apt-get, etc. in libranet. How do I do that without losing my other sources?

Also, does anyone know if there is a good avi/divx player in any of the trees? I would really like to get one working in LibraNet. (i never could get one running well in my old distro.)

Thanks ch-b. I hear that it is a royal pain to install is this true?
I asked about the tree because I noticed that on one of the Debian pages that they had a .deb file for the mplayer, but when I try to get it via the package manager, which I believe searches this tree, it says that there is no such package. It would be nice if there was a .deb for it because if I decide I don't like it it is much easier to remove than trying to find all the files that are created when one compiles an app in.

Well maybe it was just in Mandrake that it was a problem. But I have heard a few horror stories. Thanks though I will take a look at it.

You could always just download the .deb and manually install it.

hmm a pet is on its way .. now im too tired .. ill finish it tomorrow, then hopefully everybody is able to compile / install mplayer from source ..

deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US testing/non-US main contrib non-free

for mplayer:

Code:

deb http://marillat.free.fr/ stable main

thats to upgrade stuff to woody (debain testing)
per the page at :
http://www.debian.org/releases/testing/

actually, compiling mplayer is very easy
u just have to read the instructions, follow them and u'll end up with an excellent video player for linux... that's all
