RTCW and Ati Radeon
I have an ATI Radeon but am having trouble getting RTCW to run on it.
It loads to the menu fine, I can use the server browser and everything, but whenever I try to join a game (whether its sp, mp, or running a non-dedicated server) it completely freezes my machine on the loading screen just as the loading bar seems to reach the end :/ ; I cant ctr-alt-f2 or ctr-alt-bspc out of it
and have to hit the reset button.
The only thing I can find is:
Jan 31 14:24:46 slacker kernel: [drm:radeon_freelist_get] *ERROR* returning NULL!
Jan 31 14:25:17 slacker last message repeated 1524 times
Which appears in my syslog whenever i try to run RTCW.
does anyone have any idea what could be the problem, or have it actually running on a Radeon? Or maybe what other logs I should look in to try and find the problem.
BTW I am running Slackware 8, with XFree86 4.2.0 and a 2.4.17 kernel with a Radeon 32SDR and using the 1.1B RTCW Linux files.
Thx

Re: RTCW and Ati Radeon
I upgraded everything in attempt to make it work, but to no avail
However I have now got it working thanks to someone who pointed me towards this link:
http://www.rtcw.co.uk/forums/showthr...?threadid=2619
By altering the code in one of the Radeon driver files.
It seems that if I had used Google to look for a solution earlier I would have been ok as it is well documented ;D
