And now we see why Debian isn't fun.....
If you *want* to attempt it, more power to you... personally, I don't enjoy the felling of bamboo shoots being shoved under my fingernails.....
Ok I downloaded Debian's most recent version according to debian.com and I am installing from floppies. Floppies because they download quicker and i couldn't figure out which files I needed to copy to the CD(the ones that looked appropriate were a little under 800megs). Now everything is going good except they are asking even more questions then Mandrake was. They say I need to install the drivers for everything that I want to use. I see CD as one of them so I try that first and realize I have no idea what brand model cd writer i have. All i know is it supports both CDR and CDRW. They got about 8 or 10 models to chose from and none of them are generic. I am trying all of them I think the install might crash while doing so and if it doesnt what if it says none of them work?
