    Need help with insmod error

I have been trying to get a modem to work, but keep getting this error when the module is being put into the kernel:

    SuSE version 7.3
    SuSE 7.1 boot scripts
    starting module and utilities
    Using /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/char/hamcore.o
    Using /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/char/ham.o
/lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/char/ham.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
    done

Now I have checked the specs in proc/pci and such. I believe it is giving me this message since it thinks the modem is a NIC. So how can I fix this insmod error?

    TIA!!!

That module isn't used for modems. Try another one.

What kind of modem is it?

Yes the module is for my modem a Intel HaM V.90, it is a Hardware accelerated modem, Intel provides drivers for Linux, and those are the ones I am using. They are on my SuSE 7.3 install CD. I followed the directions exactly and keep getting the insmod error.

I don't know if this would be any help, since I've never used SuSE, but I've gotten similar errors in Slack, where the readme said to put insmod in the modules config file. I put modprobe instead, and it worked. Try doing modprobe modulename to see if this idea has a future for you.
