    SAMBA file sharing

    I'm currently working with my new samba server [] which I will use for file sharing and I have an existing samba/ldap [smb/] as domain controller which I will use for authentication.
    below is my smb.conf
    workgroup =
    server string = Linux File Server
    security = SERVER
    password server = [smb/ password]
    username map = [smb/ ip address]
    preferred master = No
    local master = No
    domain master = No
    wins support = Yes
    hosts allow = 192.168.1.

    comment = Tmp Iso Image Area
    path = /tmp/isos
    guest ok = Yes

    comment = Linux File Server
    path = /home/docs-2011
    valid users =
    read only = No

    my problem is it keeps on authenticating me and i think i doesn't recognize my smb/ server.
    my smb/ server is working. I can ping, do the ssh on my smb/ server from my new samba server.
    Is there a missing config? :-(

    I have seen similar problems with windows clients running antivirus software that don't allow access to the Samba server. Try making the samba server a trusted host and see what happens.

    My new samba server is a domain member and I can see the domain users and groups through wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g. But when I try to access my new samba server through windows client, the error was "session setup failed: NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS". I'm using winbind. Both servers are running on CENTOS and my clients are windows.

    This problem may be smbpasswd related so please check or retype new smbpasswd

    Have you added your Samba users.

    smbpasswd -a tom
    New SMB password:

    Don't forget to restart the smb and nmb dameons
    by doing this

    /etc/init.d/nmb restart && smb restart
