    Problem with my USB modem

    Hi all,
I bought a new USB modem recently. It was containing drivers for both windows and linux(.deb).I installed it in windows and was working fine. Now i tried to install the .deb package in Ubuntu, It was showing errors. So,i used wine program loader to install the windows driver (.exe)in linux. The driver was somehow installed. Now the problem is when i insert the USB modem, it gets detected as a pendrive(It is showing a desktop icon) and not as a modem.I tries to run the application,it showed that the modem is not connected .anyone please help.

    Thanks in advance.

Could it be due to the mode switch problem ?
