By default, SFTP requests are enabled with any OpenSSH server.

    ssh: ssh -l user server -p 22
    sftp: sftp -oPort=22 user@server

Of course, you don't need to specify the port if the default port is being used (or if you have set in your .ssh).

In a cpanel server, It normally uses pureftp, I want to enable SFT and stop using FTP by the users. How this can be done?

That's usually not a possibility if the host of the CPanel does not allow SSH. If they offer SSH, just have them turn it on, and you'll have the ability to do so.

    Hi,

I have seen some of the hosting providers do so. Is there is any work around method to enable SFTP?

Unless you want to try to alter it illegally, you need to talk to the person/company that hosts the cpanel in order to have the option to use SSH/SFTP. Otherwise, if they offer it by default; check their FAQs, or email them.
