Why things are so quiet on the forums

Well,

I decided to add a number of anti-spam features to the forums to reduce the number of robots that were registering. There is now a simple security question and I've disallowed the use of numbers in usernames to prevent registrations like name1, name2, name3 in quick succession.

The quality of the questions has certainly gone up, but the quantity has gone way down. Let's see what the next few weeks has to offer.

Problem with the question quality going up is that I am too nooby to know the answer

but there can be problem to make some username ... i think like if someone want TGAM and it is used they must chose other...

She is going to make you start throwing out all your old 'project' computers, just wait...those ISA bus mobo's are going to come back in style just you wait, and I had to throw all mine out years ago... *sigh

Actually she doesnt mind my extensive computer collections. I have way too much computers. If I had to do a wedding again, I would have made it open source lol! More good news, I actually got accepted to university over here in aussie land! I am now doing a bachelor of corporate system management, and bachelor of I.T. Hopefully means I will be more of a use to this site once I get a lil' more knowledge!

I still manage to get the assorted computer parts here and there, I have just found that I have to finish my ideas faster so I can justify keeping some aging component around.

Congrats on getting into school! Trust me when I say your tinkering will take you every bit as far in life as a degree will. In my experience, a degree will get you in the door, but the experience you gain from tinkering will move you up the ladder, so to speak.
