two possibilities
1. get a PCMCIA nic card and hook the laptop to your home box and install linux from the cdrom in your home pc, or
2. get a pcmcia nic card and install linux by ftp
Ok, so I got a real old laptop someone was gonna turn in at work, to play with it until I get bored. *It is a Pentium 133 with 40 mb or ram and a 1.3 gig hard drive. *I can probably get a pcmcia nic and a modem from work for it, though I currently don't have a cd-rom. *( good thing about working on a big network, you have access to spare parts *:P)I can maybe get an external zip-drive, though I *was wondering if there is an easy way to so an installation without it. *I can probably use our network to do a network install (Win/Novell network) *though I was wondering if there is an easier way, because I am not that familiar with linux yet, and I was thinking of doing this at home. I have my own PC at home running Slack and WXP.
Any ideas?
