Hi mate. Just need a couple more details for the help. What sort of internet are you using (eg ADSL, Cable, Dial-Up, wireless). Secondly, how are you connecting to that internet (via modem, built in modem). Is the modem you are using connect to your pc via usb or via ethernet cable?
The more information you provide, the better the results![]()

Well I have a mini laptop. It is setup for wireless and wired connection. I tried the wired connection via ethernet cable and that didn't work either. Neeither wireless or wired work. I get messages "Can't find server" or "Server refused connection, timed out". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
well extremely imprecise to workout solution directly.
so here comes the questions...
wired connextion: does it have DHCP ? is the service configured accordingly on your laptop? Is your cable ok?
if you arre under mandriva did you configure the network in the mandriva control center?
Is your network chip recognised correctly?
can you post the output of "cat /proc/net/dev" ?
Thanks!
