Exchange Server for Linux

Hi, I am very much new to Linux. Recently I have started working on it. Does anyone can suggest me on the best mailing system for Linux? I have been working with Microsoft Exchange since last 8 years ( exchange-5.5 to 2007). So, I would love to have a mailing system which has most of MS Exchange feature.

No such luck @heera667, I have been searching in vain for a Linux-based replacement for a Exchange/Active Directory. There really isn't anything out there that can even start to compete with all the features and ease of use of an Exchange/AD setup.

I have looked at OpenExchange, they have a connector for Thunderbird, but it still needs come maturing in my opinion.

How about Gmail for the enterprise? http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/business/index.html up to 25GB per user in storage. It costs $50 per user per year.

You can get mail for your domain at http://mail.google.com/a/ with 8GB per user in storage. It's free and I use that for my domain for my personal email

I heard Suse had a nice system called eDirectory, don't know if it's true or not, someone on the ubuntu forums was mentioning it

Gmail for the enterprise is nice, but it doesn't address the issue some management types have with other people hosting their data. I do a little freelance and I ALWAYS push them toward Google hosted services, but it isn't for everyone. I see where Google is trying to go with this, I think its great, software as a service is a booming industry and makes alot of sense. But when you involve company secrets, its gets to be a touchy subject.
