Hi,
I have been far from Linux for a very long time (again) and now I have instaled Fedora 11 x86_64.
I use a dial-up connection to reach the net. I have installed my modem and also configured Kppp too.
Now my problem is :
Although I can connect to the ISP (using Kppp), still I am not able to load any pages and Firefox says "Server not found".
I tought, it might be the Firewall no letting me use the net, so I disabled it, but still nothing.
Does anyone have an idea what might be the cause?
P.S: I searched in google and also in the Forum, but it seems that I am the only one to use dial-up in Linux !!!
Thanks.
This will be over soon, and then I can ...
See what your default gateway is, see that your default route is using your PPP connection and see what your /etc/resolv.conf contains, try pinging your default gateway if success, try pinging something on the net like 130.225.96.225 if success it most probably is a DNS issue.
Then make changes to your /etc/resolv.conf by setting other nameservers like 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.
