Question Does any body knows the ranging steps of an ADSL modem?

    Hi,

Does any body knows the ranging steps of ADSL modem that how it locks the downstream channel and upstream channel as in cable modem scenario...i have worked on an HFC network but i dont have any idea of dsl setup...

as in cable modem the steps are as follows,

1: First it locks the downstream broadcasted by the CMTS,
2: second it communicates with the CMTS to lock the Upstream channel
3: third it requests for the whole dhcp process
4: fourth it asks from the CMTS to copy its DOCSIS standard profile...
5: and lastly it comes to the registered or in online state...

so what is the scenario in dsl setup....also accept dslams what are the other equipment involved in dsl setup...

    Thanks and Regards,

    Faddi.
