Not to be confused with the wireless modem.
I can only get eth0 to work eth1 is my wireless nic and says
3c501 device eth1 does not seem to be present delaying initialization.

i loaded ubuntu cd (run from cd only) and it sees the wifi connection. I wonder why redhat does not.

double check which wireless card it is by typing lspci in a cmd terminal
you should see a line like this
1:07.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR2413 802.11bg NIC (rev 01)
Make sure yours is an Intel 2200abg.
