You could always run virtual box with a linux guest running postfix or something. For OpenSource SMTP on windows though, xmail would be a good choice: http://www.xmailserver.org/
Hi,
I am looking for a good (and free) SMTP Server for windows Vista.
I know there are good ones on linux, but because I am a C# programmer, I need to have an SMTP Server on windows Vista too.
I have found some using google, but they were not what I want.
Windows XP had an SMTP Server, but windows Vista does not, even the Ultimate version (Microsoft !).
Does anyone have an idea?
This will be over soon, and then I can ...

63,000 bugs in the code, 63,000 bugs,
ya get 1 whacked with a service pack,
now there's 63,005 bugs in the code!!
Download virtual box:
https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP...-F@CDS-CDS_SMI
Download an ISO for whichever distro you want, and then you can mount the ISO in virtualbox and install from there. For setting this up as a server, you probably want to configure a virtual NIC so it has it's own IP.
Hope this helps

You could try hMailServer at http://www.hmailserver.com/
