Desktop icons don't work

Hi,

Im not too sure what happened here but I started up my RH7.2 box and found that the icons for Home, trash,a file, and a symlink to another partition no longer work. they are replaced by generic file icons. How can I fix this without deleting my whole account and starting a new one?

Are you using KDE or GNOME??

To reset your desktop setting, delete ".kde" ( note: dot k d e ), directory and restart your X ( or reboot ), then your desktop setting should be reset to your initial condition.

errummm if it worked its kde, if you deleted ~/.gnome and that worked then its gnome
