    Compiling BASIC programs on Linux

    Hi,

I am on Fedora core 5 32+ bit as my OS. Can I run BASIC language programs and compile them at the command like just like C++ or Java? I can't find much info about how to compile BASIC language programs on Linux. What do I need to download/update and how to compile and run the programs? Can any one help me please? Thanks..
