    Simulators and operating systems

    Hi,

What is a simulator after all? Its a piece of software that resembles real life right? Just like the flight simulator used for pilot training etc. But what is the exact difference between an operating system and a simulator that acts like an operating system? Any examples of such simulators? Thanks..

Simulators are applications that actually show you how something works, but isn't really a functional copy of what it is simulating. Hence the flight simulator shows you how a plane may work, but in reality you aren't really flying a plane, nor will it actually act as transportation.

But they can be a great learning source as they give you all the space you need to make mistakes.
