    Hi all,

    I trying to select a best mail server product to install and configure a commercial mail server in public. I got four names

    1.sendmail
    2.postfix
    3.qmail
    4.exim

    By concerning security as a main point, How guys rate thease and wht were the expeinces with thease?

    I there any other free product?

    Pls senior Gurus, send a comment...

    Postfix all the way. Configuration is easy, and adding more to it is as well. A lot of the others are a pain to configure, or not as versatile. Of course, you then have to choose a lot of other applications, since you only chose the Mail Transfer Agent.

    Security is as good as you make it really. So far, no real bugs in the MTA itself, your POP, IMAP, SMTP, whatever you use server is going to determine your true security. As for warding off spam, Postfix has lots of answers, and tons of articles all over the place to tell you how to accomplish that.
