According to the Linux Wireless database your particulare card will run with the Ralink driver or with the RT2x00 driver.
The RT2x00 is an OSS forge from the orriginal ralink driver, altho some instances of it is quite experimental.

I've been playing around with the rt2500 beta driver from their site, with the exact same card you're describing, and I couldn't get the max transfer rate higher than 2Mb/s.
Their CVS build failed misserable in authenticating with the AP.

So all in all, play around with it, and accept what you get, or investigate further and get involved with the development.
