    Question How Internet Explorer resolve URL

    Hi All,
    here I am giving a question regarding IE......

    If i typed www.google.com in my computer internet browser,How the machine resolve the name?Detail working of IE in client machine.

    Are you just trying to understand how it works, or do you want to start redirecting traffic to other places?

    What it does, in a very short and sweet summary, is it first looks at the hosts file to see if the host is already known. Next it checks the DNS cache on the system to see if the the IP has been resolved. If not, it then sends a query to your primary DNS server. If it doesn't get a reply, it the queries your secondary DNS server. Once it finds the IP matching the FQDN, it then directs the browser to that IP.

    That is about as simple as I can make it.
