Unfortunately, no amount of software updates (to include BIOS) will help that because DDR2 chips are a different physical size and need a different memory controller. Sorry.
Hi, I have a pc with a 2000 Mhz AMD Athlon CPU, Shuttle AK 39 MainBoard and 256 MB of RAM. In the Mainboard manual, it says that the MB can support DDR RAMs. Now I want to add a 1GB DDR2 RAM to my PC. What will happen assuming that the MB does not support DDR2 RAMs?
If I update the MB's BIOS then is it possible to support DDR2 RAMs?
Thanks in advance.
This will be over soon, and then I can ...
