    mysqldump importing old database

Hi all, I'm trying to move some data from a mysql database (version 3.23.58) to a new one (5.0.44). I'm trying to use mysql import and just reading the file into the server. Here's my commands and output:

    mysqlimport:
    Code:
    zak@virtual ~ $ mysqlimport -u root -p dvd dvd.sql
    Enter password:
mysqlimport: Error: Table 'dvd.dvd' doesn't exist, when using table: dvd
There is no table in the database either old or new of the name "dvd", that's the database name. I tried making a table but then I got these errors:
    Code:
    zak@virtual ~ $ mysqlimport -u root -p dvd ./dvd.sql
    Enter password:
mysqlimport: Error: Can't get stat of '/var/lib/mysql/dvd.sql' (Errcode: 2), when using table: dvd
When just trying to read the file in from the shell I get this:
    Code:
    zak@virtual /www/dvd $ mysql -u root -p dvd < dvd.sql
    Enter password:
ERROR 1064 (42000) at line 47: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'out int(11) default '0',

      FULLTEXT KEY title (title)
    ) TYP' at line 5
    Thanks for all your help!

Try creating the database first, it seems it is trying to add the dvd table into a database named dvd ie:
mysqlimport: Error: Table 'dvd.dvd' doesn't exist, when using table: dvd
Hence the dvd.dvd points to a dvd database which holds a dvd table.

So try creating it, you can always drop it if that dosn't pan out ie:
    # mysqladmin -u root -p create dvd
    Don't worry Ma'am. We're university students, - We know what We're doing.

"There is no table in the database either old or new of the name "dvd", that's the database name. I tried making a table but then I got these errors:"
That referred to when I tried making the table 'dvd'.

    Thanks for your reply though!
