    Another newbie from the UK

Hi folks i've just joined this group hoping to read/learn about linux. At present i'm trying to decide which distribution to go for. From what i've learnt so far; ubuntu seems in first place, but suse offers alot of software. Redhat/fedora barely seems to get a mention (but has more drivers for hardware) and yet has been around the longest. What is the best package to LEARN ON?

be grateful for info and links to help me make up my mind.

    thanks

Ubuntu is a good choice, it comes in 3 flavors, my choice as easiest of those
is Kubuntu, which is ubuntu with the kde desktop builtin. its very intuitive and windoze-like wih all the same buttons
such as forward, back, home, bookmarks [instead of favorites], file/ save as....
some guys have all the luck, some guys get all the fame,
some guys get all the breaks, some guys they do nothing but complain.-----Rod Stewart
