    Hello,

    First take an advice: don't post the same question in multiple threads. It's not polite and it won't get you an answer any faster. But since you are new to Linux and this board, we'll forgive you this time. *

    Now to your problem. Try to change the line in your fstab file to something like this:
    Code:
    /dev/cdrom */cdrom *iso9660 defaults,user,noauto,ro 0 *0
    Then try to mount your cdrom. At the command prompt type:
    Code:
    mount /cdrom

    No problem. In that case you need to create it. As root type:
    Code:
    mkdir /cdrom
    then try mounting again. We'll get this sucker working ...

    Sounds like you forgot to but the "/" in front of cdrom. Make sure you type it in just like this: mount /cdrom

    Re: Newbie help with CD-RW

    I checked the command list in a terminal and there was a / in front of cdrom. forgive my ignorance but is there suppose to be something in that directory ? fstab?
    I read the article and tried it and that didn't work either... :'(

    Re: Newbie help with CD-RW

    hello,
    i see in you fstab there is a /mnt/cdrom /mnt/cdrom - this should read /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom what happens when you type ls -l /dev/ | grep cdrom ?

    also - i think you may wish to get rid of the supermount option and have this - i have heard iso9660 noauto,owner,ro,unhide i have heard bad things about supermount

    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9may30 21:45 cdrom1->/dev/scdo
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9may30 21:45 cdrom2 ->/dev/scd1
    lrw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 22, 0may5 1998 hdc
