    RX Errors and tuning question

    Hi,

Does anyone know what might cause me rx errors on an Ethernet interface? Is it another machine on the network causing this or is it the Linux box? I ask this as I have never had a tx error.

    RX packets:30776742 errors:237 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:239

    TX packets:31743970 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0

The network card is a 3c905b. It is 100Mbps Full Duplex.

The box is an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ with 512MB RAM

Should I increase the tqueuelen from 100 to 1000 to increase performance? Could there be any issues is doing this.

    hi mate

Would suggest that you look at the following:

    network driver
    Speed/duplex setting (if hard coded)
    replace cable & switch port.

    regards
    joe
