I am using a satellite internet service. Internet service is supposed to be always on, but it does not stay connected. If I go to IE and click on tools, there is a way the connection can be repaired. It takes a couple of minutes to do this. I spoke to my provider, but they tell me it's a problem with my computer. Can anyone shed some light on this matter. Thanks
If you are always repairing the connection, which most of the times it is just releasing and renewing the DHCP lease, then I can't see why it is a O/S Problem. seems like the router from the ISP is not keeping the connection open. Next time it drops, goto Start-->Run and type cmd. When the window pops up type "ipconfig" and see if you still have an IP address.
