I too am also looking for some great mepis sources. I currently use Mepis on my laptop. Anyone know of any great distros for my laptop. Tried Ubuntu, not happy with it, but I want a distro that Ican easily update on relatively modest system requirements(there goes gentoo). Multimedia support would be nice too...

    I support multimedia 100%

Beez, you are going to get RSS injury if you keep changing distros!

    what kind of Ltop? specs?

BTW, r00tf00 himself has been chatting on IRC with a dude in Australia, a Linux dude no less! His handle is johncoombs or something like that. Beez you aren't
alone down there. Almost enough for a LUG.

I was lovin' Kanotix, even before the 2005 edition. But the 2005-03 Kanotix is running just fine on my Shuttle PC (soon I'll know if it's just as good on the laptop). I do know that the live CD will recognize a wireless connection on the laptop  . A first for me.

I'd run plain ol' Knoppix from a HD install, but Klaus advises against doing that (unless you really know what you're doing with different levels of Debian on the same install... Stable packages along with testing, etc... ).
