Dial-up connection

hi guys!! i'm new here..

just want to know if you can help me on my problem..


my computer automatically dials-up a connection on the internet.

just wanna know what causes this automatic dialling.

i'm using a dial-up and has a norton 2005.

Make sure that your email is not set to automaticly connect when checking mail. I know in the connection setting you will have a checkbox asking if you want it to connect automaticlly. So start there. I don't have a dail-up connection setup to check, but I can work on it and see what I can find.

what email setting is that? is it the outlook?

actually, i'm not using ms outlook. I only use yahoo and hotmail so I guess that the problem isn't there.

Is norton's live update set to run automatic?

sorry i replied just now becuase I always surf the net outside of our house that is why I haven't checked my computer. I have disabled the automatic update of norton 2005 and i'll check if there will be an auto dial-up thanks for your help....
