filed name "tempfile" cannot be deleted

I am having a problem deleted a file named "tempfile". It is not designated as a temporary file under properties, only "file".

Upon attempting deletion, it states that the file is either write protected or currently in use.

I am trying to delete this because it is interfering with a program when opening. When I try to run this program, a box pops up stating:

Error opening file c:\programfiles\COH\tempfile

you may be out of disk space or trying to install to a location where you have insufficient permissions.

Is there a way I can overwrite this and force deletion? Or might there be a possible alternative?

Looks like it's related to the "City of Heroes" game. Do you have it installed with some sort of agent running in the background?

It could also be due to some sort of spyware. Have you cleaned up your system recently with something like AdAware or Spybot Search and Destroy?
