I'm here. Alone in my new apartment in Peoria, IL. Wishing my wife was here with me. Third week on the new job. Things are going well. Things will go better when wifey's here next week (big freaking move, donchaknow) .
But yeah... It's been a ghost town around here lately.

Sorry I have not been around, I know I said that I would check in every few days but work has been a killer. When I get home, I stay home! But by the grace of Charter I may be able to see you-all more often.
Nothing works well here now, the phones are still iffy, don't know about Charter, they took a huge hit and are JUST getting back to opporation (10 days or so for cable TV) and they are at less than 50% of the pre Katrina level.
Anyone want to buy some firewood?
I still visit here all the time, but this ghostiness is a little off-putting. How are you coping after the hurricane Fatal? You poor american bastards are getting it everywhere!

Beez, You got it right, coping is what we do. Our area has doubled in population, thats with people who left New Orleans and relief workers from all over the USA.
Traffic is nuts, the divorce rate is unbelievable, everyone that we depend on for services is gone or working at something different. The stores are having to pay $2 to $4 per hour more to get help!
