microsoft .net framework 1.1 and 2

Hi,

Do I still need microsoft .net framework 1.1 if I already have installed the microsoft .net framework 2?

Quick answer yes, but they both can be installed side by side. From my understanding the 1.1 code should work fine with 2.0 installed. But you know how MS can be. If you have 1.1 installed and you put 2.0 on you should be fine. If you have 2.0 installed and start seeing issues, install 1.1.

yes it is up-to-date, my question is if i still need the ver. 1.1 if i installed the ver. 2. anyways, it's ok now i already got my answer with another member

And just to elaborate more on Rick's answer, you may need 1.1 because most applications are still using 1.1 framework to work properly, yet some newer software are using 2.0 - perhaps that's why MS allows both be sitting on the computer.

No, 2.0 Framework I don't think is on the windows update site right now.

If you believe Microsoft, the old stuff should work on the 2.0 framework, but you know how that goes.
