    more windows/ie problems..ugh

ok, this is how it is

on my dad's computer, if you try to print a webpage, it pukes and says you cant print for whatever reason (a long explination, if you want to read it ill hook you up with a screenshot)

I try to upgrade internet explorer and it says it cannot continue because a newer version is already installed? heh..anyways, having a newer version then the latest is impossible I thought..oh well, anybody know how to deal with this?

Has he installed a new printer, or changed the printer driver?

Does he really need to use IE? Would he be open to the possibility of using Moz or Firefox? It might be easier to convince him to switch than it would be to figure out what is wrong with Windows/IE. Sad, but true.

    Cheers

he refuses to use anything else, he thinks my alternative software is shitty.

And this was not a new install, it just *stopped working* according to him, I know it was working before...I almost wonder what changed

    also the error is:

    Error: Library not registered.
    URL: res://c:\windows\system32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg

Can you post both exact error messages?

You can register a DLL manuallby by doing

    regsvr32 /path/to/my/dll

It sounds to me like your dad installed something that messed up the system, or uninstalled something that messed it up.

Ok, I didn't read the links Trickster posted, but have you tried reinstalling the printer drivers?
