On Fri 12 Aug, a user was able to print Outlook 2003 E-mail messages "normally".
Today, Mon 15 Aug, the Outook 2003 E-mail messages print only with the headers. Similarly, when printing from the Internet, only the url prints out as a footer with an entire blank page.
I verified nothing major was done on the sytem, that Microsoft Updates and Symantec signature files are updated, ran scanpst on the 1.5GB pst file, ran defrag, etc., etc. I even created a new pst file, but the messages still print out only with the headers.
Word docs and Notepad text files print ok.
The user has WinXP/SP2 and Office 2003 Professional.
If push comes to shove, I can
1. Try to re-install Outlook 2003 (or Office 2003 if necessary)
2. Try to re-create the Outlook profile.
3. Try to create a new account profile.
There are several discussions on Google Groups, mostly from the Microsoft.public forums, but no solutions.
One suggestion was to ensure I had the latest printer driver for the printer being used (HPLaserjet 4000). I haven't checked that yet.
All suggestions welcomed!
Thanks,
Mario
08/16/05: After disabling the printer and deleting the generic HPLJ400 driver, WinXP changed it to HPLJ4000 PCL6. The user can now do "normal" printing of Outlook 2003 E-mail messages.Originally posted by arnaldomj@Aug 15 2005, 05:03 PM

The other forum poster said that Outlook 2003 "was very hard on printer drivers".
Yep,
