A friend bought a new e-machines with windows xp pre-loaded.
after only a month something (no idea what) happened and the machine will not boot up nor would it run the recovery disk. I opened up the microsoft documentation to re-load windows but no cd was included.
I called Best buy and they said e-machines does not ship with the windows cd (but they would sell us one for $200)
Is this correct? buying pre-loaded windows mean you get no cd and in turn if something goes wrong your stuck buying ANOTHER copy?

I know most companies that sell their machines with a pre-loaded O/S that they supply some kind of recovery CD with it. I am not sure about the emachines though. I know someone who had one, and I can not recall if they had a receovery CD or not. If they don't, and they are wanting to sell a new CD, I would be a little upset.
