    And

I have to say i should have purchased these books a long time ago.
Building web sites with CSS is F#$%ing awsome!!!

z-index is my new friend and tables are dead.
I allways found html to limited as a language when it came down to content layout.

liquid layouts have saved my ass big time also they help to make your pages render properly on all browsers.

Here is a screenshot of a html editor i have been working on.

CSS is the stuff. Just to cover all my bases I like to check out my design with the styles turned off. Its how old browsers and screen readers will 'see' the page.

I would really like to test your app there when your done. Thats the one thing I miss about windows is the ability to visually pick the color in an editor. Excellent feature. I really hate having to flip between an editor and gimp to get the hex # .
    Keep up the good work.

Ditto that Wildheart. I wouldn't mind checking out your app comtux, if you want testers that is. I love it when an app has all the main functionality available via the right click menu, ala The Gimp. Just a suggestion.

    WebDeveloper.

Well Wildheart this app is ptoveing to be the most chalangeing to me.
I even have a budget to pay gambas developers for codeing help on this one.

    Here is a little info.

    What Works.
    -----------------
    1. Opening Projects.
    2. Saveing Projects.
    3. starting New Projects.
    4. Coder, Split, Pre Views For the Text Editor and WebBrowser Components.
    5. Code Quick Buttons (Basicly you click on the button and is add in the textarea.
    6. 234 Predefined Colors
    7. Most Xhtml, CSS, PHP Syntax.
    8. Help/Tutorial system.

What works but with minor problems.
    ----------------------------------------------------
    1. Code Quick Buttons
(Any time you click one of these buttons the code is added to the end of the last line regardless of where the cursor is placed.)

    2. Split and PreView webBrowser Component.
(The WebBrowser can only display valid URLS wich means if your not running a web server or have your project hosted then you can view your work as it is being built in the code editor.
If you try to load a project.html file directly from your hard drive you are give an invald url error.)

What Doesnt work at All YET.
    ----------------------------------------
    1. WebBrowser Component Doesnt Refresh .
The idea is the have the WebBrowser Component refresh when you hit the enter key so you can view your progress in real time as you build.

    2. Syntax or Line Highliteing.

    3. Color Selection Dialog

    4. Line Numbering

Features Soon Planed Once Everything Above Is worked out.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    1. WYSIWYG Html Designer.

    How will this work.

With gambas you can track the position of widgets and the mouse cursor
so let use a submit button as an example.
When you Drag&Drop a Submit button to the design area the Xhtml code is added between the tags in the code editor when you move the submit button the top and left pixel positioning in the CSS is changed in numerical value so truely what you see is what you get.

As of right now i can Drag&Drop a button but i chacks a little and i have the designer 1024x768 view maped out to corispond with what the top and left pixel positioning would be for a page that size.

To give you an idea what i am talking about here is some positioning css code for the submit button.
    #submitbtn {position: absolute; top: 255px; left:472px; }

    Testing

As soon as i have the WebBrowser Refresh and The WebBrowser URL View and The Quick Button issues work out then ill will upload it for testing on my web server but for now it is nothing more than a text editor with some web development features.

I have Gimp, Inkscape, Scribus, Qflash allready added.

Plus i have plans to add in swftools and svg alos javascript syntax support later down the road possible even ming.

Being these are all tools that i use for web development i atarted this project becuase i didnt like any of the other html editors linux offers and have been designing as i learn new stuff.

your completely right. there are no good web editors for linux. Whenever I get into heavy coding or designing I always fire up windows in vmware. If its just small changes I'm making I don't bother but for a good web work enviroment, linux is lacking as of now.

I'm looking forward to testing this for you as well I'm sure others are as well.

Nice CT, still making us all feel like we just plain aren't doing enough. Glad to see you are still cranking away. Or in other words, I am glad you are on our side.

    Some Programmers are strange creatures.

well if any of you have been on any of the gambas forums or mailing lists
you might have noticed i have been makeing post for gambas developers for higher basicly i am trying to hire gambas friendlys to write docs ans examples that i need.

Now i have been contacted by about 5 developers and they all agree to write docs and examples for a fee.

Now i have $500.00 dollars at my disposal for gambas docs a little something i have put away.

I even donate to the gambas project regulary.

But these developers just seem to be major slackers i even talked with 2 people who develop the gambas project and they agreed to help me out but i am just not getting any help.

Dam all i need is some F#$% doc and simple ones at that!

So i have purchased all the realbasic books i can find and i have dug out my old Visual Basic 3 Books and i am going to give realbasic (Mac Version a try ) i have the pro version so i can export my projects to any linux platform that the new realbasic works on (current release) but there is one thing realbasic uses the gtk2 widget set not really a problem but i had hoped for a qt widget set ohh well.

This is a fairly easy project but with out the right docs it becomes a real pain in the ass fast.

So anyways i will still keep buging the crap out of the gambas developers untill i get what i want.
