You'll have to manually type the service names, you can't copy/paste that information I believe. But to see the running services, simply press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to bring up the task manager.

I use CTRL+ALT+DELETE

If it is a start-up hi-jacking program go to:
Start->Run->Type msconfig->Locate the Startup Tab->Search the list for any suspicious program with links to any hijacking software->Remove the green tick for that item![]()

That could work, thanks for the tip there Ishtar, it'll come in handy. Bye bye Quicktime player icon
It helps quite a lot if you want to make your loading times faster by getting rid of start-up icons and programs that don't need to load like Quicktime, Real Player, Roxio Drag-to-Disc creator etc.
It also helps if your anti-spyware/anti-virus deletes a trojan or malicious code that tries to launch on start-up. Many people have this problem with Microsoft Anti-Spyware deleting a Trojan horses files but not the command to execute it at start up.
Example:
I had a Trojan try to break in. I deleted it with Microsoft Anti-Spyware but it caused the following error to appear at start-up:
Error: Could not load NEWDOT~2 rundll32 C:\PROGRA~ etc.
It was annoying. I searched the Help & Support (which didn't do much)and some Windows XP 'specialist' websites with commands and things and msconfig came up.
I went to the start-up tab and found this useful tool. It is actually safer than using a freeware Tweaking software to select start-up programs because it is integrated into XP and doesn't expire
EDIT: I strongly recommend not messing with the other tabs in msconfig unless you are an Advanced user!

Yeah, the last time I used those freebies was in Windows 95 times, when they were a hot item. Windows has improved enough to eliminate the usage of thirdparty software, and now MS Antispyware is doing charms.
