Did you install MS Office and ActiveSync in their default locations on the C drive?
Has anyone seen this before please.
Office 2003 Pro installed for months. No problems.
ActivSync 3.8 just installed and set up with an HP 4150 Pocket PC.
Syncs files OK, but tells me Outlook is not installed so it can't sync contacts etc.
Any help, thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

I found the answer actually, almost by chance.
An article in the Microsoft database discussed another program not synching with Outlook 2003 and the answer was "use detect and repair" in the help menu of Outlook. I tried it and voila, all is light in the garden. Sadly no real explanation was given as to why the effect was seen in the first place.
Still, hope this helps others if they suffer the same thing.

Indeed, doesn't make much sense. If a program is "there", it's "there"but that's windows for ya.
