Outlook Calendars

Since this forum has already been so helpful and has an amazing response time, I thought i'd try again.

At our organization we don't keep mail on our exchanserver we pass it right through to the users computer. A new user here has hired a secretary and the secretary has been given access to her Calendar to make and change appointments. However this user has been working off the local calendar for the last two months. She now has a problem where there is information in both her local calendar and her calendar on the server. Is there anyway to syncronize the two calendars so that they have the same information?

Thanks for the compliments, if everything is setup right your user (or you) should be able to right-click on calendar icon and click properties, then go the the synchronizing tab to synch is with the exchange server.

Word of caution, practise it before attempting on live data because it might overwrite the local copy with the one on exchange.

The only problem with that (that I can see so far) is that when I go to syncronization it is syncing with an offline calendar. So in essence I now have my calendar in my pst, my calendar on the server and my calendar offline, the offline calendar in the ost and the server calendar sync and I've tested that, however is there not anyway I can say "nooooooo sync with my pst file pleaaaaase!!!!"

It only synchs with the server as far as I know, let me take a look around and see if I find something else.

Yup.. I need a solution for the same thing.. How do I synch the Calander in my PST folder with my Exchange Calander (I have outlook 2003)

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. On the Preferences tab, click Calendar Options.
3. Click to select the "Always use local calendar" check box.

Is it checkmarked?
