    USB wireless device

I'm using ndiswrapper compiled from source from the cvs.
I've got the kernel mod loaded (I've never crashed my kernel so much as I did today trying to do this)
Still I can't get my wlan0 connection to come up.
    here's my dmeg error
    Code:
    ndiswrapper version 1.2+CVS loaded (preempt=yes,smp=no)
    ndiswrapper: driver sis162u (OEM,05/28/2004,5.1.1039.1030) loaded
ndiswrapper (ndiswrapper_add_usb_device:366): Windows driver couldn't initialize the device (C000009A)
ndiswrapper: probe of 4-7:1.0 failed with error -22
    usbcore: registered new driver ndiswrapper
I'm trying to use a "Encore Enterprises IEEE 802.11b usb Adapter ENUWI-B-SICA"

I'm using the winxp .inf as the driver and ndiswrapper loaded it.

I've googled for like 2 hours now to no avail.

Can Anybody help or explain whats going on from the dmeg?

    thanks

it looks like the Windows driver couldn't initialize the device

    Other than that, no clue....

this sucks. I've come to the conclusion that linux doesn't support my usb wireless dongle. It was a valiant attempt though and I learned how to setup supported wlan devices.

I've just set up a hub and a cat5 cord short for my network.

O well I guess I'll just have to go buy some cords.

Wildheart, Please finger this out! I want to go to the coffee shop and flaunt my Linux.

    Using a Linksys WUSB12

This is the ONLY missing link in my perfect system!

    Try this?

Wildheart, I think thats been tried but what the heck, one more time.

I am in the middle of some major car repairs so the computer is getting a rest.
At least I know a little about cars. Its nice to feel competent again!
