I will try to post some information as it comes, of this system set to come out in early 2006.

? Three IBM-designed 64-bit microprocessors. The combined power of these chips means the Xbox Next will have more computing power than most personal computers. Earlier versions of these PowerPC chips are used in Apple Computer's high-end G5 PowerMac machines now.

? A graphics chip designed by ATI Technologies with speeds much faster than its upcoming R400 chip for the personal computer. This chip will help the next Xbox to display games with the resolution of high-definition TV.

Everything seems to point to a release in 2006

The following comes from GamesIndustry.biz:
While internet news sources today have reported that Microsoft is readying to launch its next generation Xbox hardware in America and Europe in the fourth quarter of this year, Eurogamer has learnt that the specific timing for the machine's roll-out is late October or early November, and merely weeks after the US launch. The exact date is yet to be solidified.

According to the Inquirer:
he Xbox was lauded for having controller wires that were incredibly long, and now they have gone one better by making wireless controllers standard on the Xbox 2. We don't think the controller is going to change much in size or shape from the Controller S design that is currently shipping, apart from this added wireless functionality.

-There is also talk that Xbox 360 will become the official name for the system.
-Rumors also circulated that the Xbox 2 will not use a high definition format but rather stick with standard DVD format 2/28/05

NEWS:
Nvidia&#39;s share price rose after they reported doing quite well even though worldwide Microsoft Xbox sales were below expection. Insiders report that Microsoft didn&#39;t like Nvidia&#39;s refusal to lower the cost of their chip set, and apparently Microsoft is getting ready for legal action against Nvidia, based on a breach of agreement between the two companies. 1-6-2005

thats what i said, i mean, i can only imagine having a video game system that is better than my computer.....in some ways.

That is a waste of computing power, since you can&#39;t do anything else with xbox, unless you mod it.

I won&#39;t be making that mistake. Wait a couple of months and the price will drop at least 100 to 150 bucks. That&#39;s when I&#39;ll buy it.
