True, actually IE 6 with Service Pack 2 has really impressed me. Zero spywares so far.
I mostly use Mozilla ForeFox cause it traps all the virus and useless sites and doesn't let them enter my computer..

I do hav to resort to using it occaionaly thocause some sites dont work in FireFoX  <_<
Have you tried SP2 for XP yet? Like I said in my previous post, I'm pretty surprised how stable it is. Although I hope it stays this way.
I use Mozilla for anything and everything.
Nope I am staying the HELL AWAY from SP2!Originally posted by genesis+Jan 1 2005, 11:07 AM-->Have you tried SP2 for XP yet? Like I said in my previous post, I'm pretty surprised how stable it is. Although I hope it stays this way.

IMO, it's better to have the Character Map open than to have to come back to this page everytime I want to type a symbol.

It COMPLETELY FUCKED my Dads laptop to the point where it wouldent start up!
We had to format the dam thing to fix all the problems. BUT then on a completely fresh install WITH CD SP2 installed fine.
Then my mate downloaded it too, and it TOTALY fucked his PC too. He is gonna have to format to fiX it now too. (But not only cause of the SP2, but because its full of viruses/spyware too)
But, theres a saying DONT fix whats not broken.
and my PC is NOT broken!!![]()
Its a year old now, and has crashed a total of about 5 times. ALL of which where my fault (editing game/windows files, then trying to run them etc)
And so far, I have yet to here a BIG advantage of SP2 or SP1.
I know theres a built in Firewall, but I would rather NOT have that, because I already have a firewall, and having 2 would just get so annoying. Any time something new tries to go online, rather than just allowing it once, having to allow it twice??
I know you can try to turn it off, but I have read on other forums, that this often dosent fully disable it.
So in short, I am not gonna get SP2 for the risk of having to format my PC.
It runs PREFECTLY fine atm, so no need for it ^_^
If you're running XP on SP1, I personally suggest going to SP2 but never install SP2 on an old operating system installation, you will screw up. Fresh install it and upgrade to SP2 is the best choice.
What's there in SP2? Perhaps this should help http://www.msforums.org/index.php?showtopic=80
