you may have a wallpaper (active desktop) that might be blocking or removing the icons. Remove the wallpaper and also check the desktop options in the display properties to see if these icons are checked.
hey! i currenty own a winXP Pro
on my desktop is tolly nothing no icons, at first i thought i deleted them all. but in fact when i goto new folder nothing comes up.
does anyone know how to fix or whats wrong?

i have checke these and i tryed "lock icons" but still no change.
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Desktop
If there's nothing in that folder then that's why nothing is on the desktop. If there is something, then I'm not quiet sure![]()

that folder is full of things buit none are showing on the desktop![]()
are you sure you're looking in the right profile folder?
yes i am.
I'll ask and read around and see if I can find anything else on it. Just make sure you are not using active desktop.
