Well if you did a clean install of XP, then you shouldn't have had any problmes with SP2. It's the people that have all the soft already installed that have a ton of problems. I've been quiet happy with it so far

Max I really appreciate your imput however, the majority of everyone I talked to today at about 3 stores and on the phone to another 5 or so say DON'T go near it yet.. About 3 guys I talk to are saying that whether fresh install or not the problems are there according to these fellas its about 65% to 35% in favour of SP2 but the 35% that are having trouble are really pissed. The one guy where I go told me that he WAS ONLY installing SP2 with a fresh installs but the same problems are coming back to the shop and now they are not recommending it be installed till MS admits theres a problem and deals with it...I'm a noob with this stuff but sometimes it doesn't pay to jump in with both feet until you feel it out for a while.

naturally you don't have you upgrade, I'm still running SP1 and I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon.

well of course, not all upgrades were causing problem. Only 10% of the total were expected to have problems, but that's a huge number.
